FULLY IMMERSIVE • REGIONAL NSW • 31 OCT to 3 NOV 2026

Hostile Environment Awareness Training, Fully Immersive

People default to their training under stress, and training that never created stress was never tested. For four days your people live inside a purpose-built environment modelled on the places they deploy to, with theory put under pressure through live scenarios run by operator instructors and professional role-players.

You Don't Visit the Training Area. You Live in It.

A checkpoint at night is not a slide. A crowd turning hostile is not a discussion point. This is the full pressure test.

The Training Environment

A bespoke developing-world training site in regional NSW, accommodation, checkpoints, markets, compounds. Participants don't visit the training area; they live in it. Conditions, routines and pressures are managed end-to-end by the Empire Institute team.

All-Inclusive from Sydney Airport

The course starts the moment you board the bus. Pickup at Sydney Airport, 09:00 Saturday 31 October 2026; pre-deployment briefings delivered in transit on the ~3-hour drive; accommodation, meals and training equipment provided on site for the full four days; drop-off at Sydney Airport the night of Tuesday 3 November 2026.

Delivered in context, not in a classroom.

Security Context, Image & Acceptance

How you are perceived shapes your risk.

The journey is planned before it begins.

Communications Protocols & Equipment

Stay connected when it matters.

Field Preparedness & Evacuation

Equipped, ready, and able to leave.

Critical Incident Stress

Perform under pressure, recover after it.

Physical Security

Hotels, streets, transport, and the spaces in between.

Information Security

Your devices and data travel with you.

Incident Reporting

What you capture protects the next traveller.

Live Scenarios

Full role-player supported, safety-managed, and assessed. Every scenario is followed by a structured debrief, and the standard does not move.

Vehicle Checkpoints & Roadblocks
Active Armed Assailant
Crowds and Mobs
Weapons Awareness, Distance & Movement Under Fire
Hostage and Kidnap Survival
Sexual Assault Awareness & Response
Basics of Negotiation
Explosive Remnants of War (ERW)

Sensitive scenarios are delivered by trained facilitators with opt-out protocols. Realism never outranks welfare.

Come Prepared

What to Bring

Pack as you would for a field deployment. A full kit list is issued on booking. As a minimum: outdoor clothing suited to field conditions day and night, a backpack (your kit travels with you), a sleeping bag and personal comfort items, and toiletries. Packing discipline is part of the training.

Safety Is the Framework, Not the Afterthought

Realism never outranks welfare. Every scenario runs under documented safety controls, qualified supervision and clear participant boundaries, including for sensitive scenarios, which are delivered by trained facilitators with opt-out protocols.
