Who we are

This site is operated by Empire Executive Protection Pty Ltd (ABN 30 622 627 034), trading as Empire Protection. In this policy, “we” and “us” mean that company.

We are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We collect personal information you give us through this site, and nothing you have not chosen to provide.

• When you request a service: your name, email address, phone number where you give one, the organisation you act for, and what you have told us about the engagement.
• When you apply to join the operator network: your name, email address, the service lines and jurisdictions you work in, and your licence number and expiry where you provide them.
• Server logs, which record the request and the time it was made. These are operational records, kept to run and secure the service.

What we do not collect

This site carries no analytics, no advertising trackers and no third party scripts. It sets no cookie except the session cookie described below, and that cookie is set only when you sign in to a portal.

We ask you not to send classified material through this site. Intake forms refuse anything marked PROTECTED or above, and that refusal is deliberate rather than a limitation: material at that level belongs on an accredited channel, not here.

Why we collect it, and what we do with it

We use what you give us to answer your enquiry, to quote and deliver the work, and to meet the obligations that come with it.

• Assessing and responding to a request for services, and preparing a quote.
• Assessing an application to the operator network, which includes verifying a licence and insurance against the issuing registers.
• Meeting our own legal, licensing and insurance obligations as a licensed security provider.

Who we disclose it to

We disclose personal information where it is necessary to do the work or to meet an obligation. We do not sell it, and we do not disclose it for anyone else’s marketing.

• Licensing authorities and insurers, to verify a licence or a policy you have told us about.
• Our own service providers, who host and run this platform under contract.
• A regulator, a court, or law enforcement, where we are required or authorised by law.

Where it is held, and whether it leaves Australia

CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: Empire must state where personal information collected through this site is stored, and whether it is disclosed to any overseas recipient. APP 8 places accountability on us for information disclosed overseas, and APP 1.4(f) to (g) require this policy to say whether that happens and, if so, to which countries.

How long we keep it

CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: Empire must state its retention periods. APP 11.2 requires personal information to be destroyed or de-identified once it is no longer needed for any purpose for which it may be used or disclosed and is not required to be retained by law. Licensing, insurance and tax obligations set minimums that need to be stated rather than assumed.

How we keep it secure

Information you send through this site travels over an encrypted connection. Access to it inside Empire is limited to those who need it for the work.

Where you sign in to a portal, a session cookie identifies you for the length of that session. It carries no password, expires within a working day, and is signed so it cannot be altered.

Accessing and correcting your information

You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, and you may ask us to correct it. APP 12 and APP 13 give you those rights and we will act on them.

CONFIRM BEFORE PUBLICATION: the contact point for these requests, and for complaints, must be a monitored address Empire nominates.

Complaints

If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, tell us and we will investigate. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
